Housing Housing Housing - P&Z 2/14/24

The agenda packet is here. P&Z will review a proposed development along Longview Drive in White Rock, and a small subdivision in the North Community. Attend in Council Chambers or on Zoom. Other things P&Z might address this year:

• Green Development Zones. A pilot zone to incorporate all LARES ideas, and then some.

• Smart Inclusivity Zones. An ordinance that would require a certain percentage of new development to be priced under market, permanently.

• People over Parking. Your P&Z Commissioners have requested that parking and accessory dwelling unit (ADUs) ordinances be brought forward for review, to see if current requirements are necessary, or are causing unnecessary limitations to additional housing.

• Upcoming bids for 20th Street development.

• Land swap ideas. Some of us have been discussing swapping a small percentage of existing open space for housing, and swapping other land back to open space. This might ultimately include receiving some NNSA land to be added to our open space. We hope to host a public forum if this moves forward.
