About Us

From Informal Caucus to Independent PAC

Initially an informal caucus within the local Democratic Party (Sunshine Democrats), our group has now formalized into a nonpartisan Political Action Committee (PAC) to maximize our effectiveness in advocating for progressive change in Los Alamos county.

Selective Endorsements and Support for Candidates

We will endorse candidates in upcoming elections based on their alignment with our values. We will provide strategic and material support to create strong campaigns and genuine connections to elect progressives to local offices.

Advocacy for Transparency, Good Governance, and Equitable Policies

Beyond candidate endorsements, our PAC will actively advocate for principles such as transparency, good governance, and the development of sustainable, equitable policies at both the state and local levels.

Value-Driven Support, Not Party Loyalty

While many of our members are registered Democrats, we firmly believe that this is not the time or place for blind party loyalty. Instead, we seek alliances to support policies and candidates that serve the entire community.

Our Team

The members of Los Alamos Progress are committed to driving social change and advancing progressive policies. They encompass a wide range of backgrounds, including grassroots activists, community organizers, policy experts, and dedicated volunteers—all working together towards a common vision of a more equitable and inclusive Los Alamos.

Our Supporters

Supporters may agree with some, few, or all positions advocated for by Los Alamos Progress. Even our core organizers may have differing views. Public policy is complicated, and support for this project does not imply unilateral support for any particular issue. We embrace diverse approaches to progressive politics. We are action-focused, bringing people of various perspectives together to create sustainable, equitable, and effective solutions for our community.
