Action Archive: Council Work Session
Agenda packets here
Attend in person at 6pm on Tuesday, 9/18/23, in Municipal Building Council Chambers (1000 Central Ave) or join on Zoom at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82683176848
There are a few items of interest at this work session:
1) Report on the LANL Transit Implementation Study. According to the staff report and presentation, LANL acknowledges that current transit options are vastly insufficient, states that they will not be able to create infrastructure for employees to drive alone, and updates on some strategies for a phased implementation of solutions. This is one to watch!
2) Report on the Community Health Plan and General Social Services. This wil be presented by the phenomenal Emily Piltch and Jessica Strong and could answer some questions we hear about the social safety net in Los Alamos.
There will also be annual reports/presentations from the Historic Preservation Advisory Board, the Community Health Council, and the Board of Public Utilities.
*Work sessions are generally for information, presentations, updates, questions, discussions, and requesting future actions. In some cases, you will see on the agenda an item to “suspend the rules” to do business. This is a useful tool that allows them to tend to timely matters when necessary, but that is not on the agenda for this meeting.
Big update to public comment according to Council Rules amended 9/5/23: Work Sessions will have public comment at the beginning of the meeting and as part of each item. If there is an issue you are interested in, you can engage in the public discourse at a work session.
